Hey, I’m Kellie.


I’m the author of six books and founder of Write a Better Book.

I’ve worked with and advised dozens of writers through the process of writing their books.

Books can be complex undertakings but through years of writing, I’ve created systems and tips to help make writing your book easier.


To help aspiring writers feel confident in their story and voice while providing resources to guide you through each step of the book writing process.

To write books that take readers can’t put down and bring them on a journey that leaves the reader changed.

To demystify the complicated process behind writing, revising, and publishing a book.

There’s so much information out there on writing books. Here’s a little bit about my experience and why I started doing this…


I wrote my first book in 2014. The process completely changed my life. I started as an aspiring author with little experience and a love for writing.

I wrote the entire first draft in just four months. There were a lot of long, caffeine-aided nights to hit my deadlines. There were moments I wanted to give up, was sure I had no idea what I was doing, and even thought about quitting writing altogether.

That’s when I realized there had to be a better way to write a book. There’s so much advice out there on writing a book but when I searched for the specifics, the nitty-gritty info on what actually goes into writing the thing, I found few tools that were actually helpful.

Over the last three years, I’ve written six books and helped coach and advise thousands of other writers in their book writing journeys. I began to systematize the process and create formulas that actually work.

Advice I won’t give you (and that you’re sick of hearing:)

  • “Just sit down and write. The words will come.”
  • “Accept that writing a book is hard and painful.”
  • “You should write whatever you want. Write for yourself.”

Instead of telling you to set deadlines and find a cozy spot to write your book, I want to tell you all you really need to know to write a book. What it actually takes. What if there were detailed systems you could use to write a bestselling introduction and set up each chapter? What about the structure of the book and how to make sure people actually want to read what you’re writing?

I’ve spent the last three years writing books, studying bestselling books, and working with writers to help turn their ideas into reality.
